Lisa Weaver Edwards

Recently we lost a very dear friend, Lisa Weaver Edwards. Before Lisa went home to be with our Lord I had a little talk with Lynley about how sick Lisa was and how it would not be long before we would not be able to see her on Earth anymore. Lynley got upset and said "That is horrible!" I explained to her that it is not horrible that it is wonderful because Lisa would not be sick anymore. When I got word that Lisa passed I started crying when I told Lynley, she gave me a hug and said "Mommy, it's ok, she is with Jesus." It is amazing to me how a 5 year old can comfort an adult!

When Lisa was going through chemo we called her and Kendall twins, they had slick heads!

Lisa and I share the same birthday and last year, her 40th birthday, we celebrated together. That is a memory I will always cherish! I will always think of her on our birthday and when I celebrate I will also be celebrating for her. Lisa was one of the most honest, loving, generous, humble, ladies I have been blessed to have in my life. She battled cancer the entire time I knew her, but yet she ALWAYS had a smile on her face! The death of Lisa has introduced me to a new friend, one of Lisa's best friends. Lisa had introduced us before and we had done stuff together with Lisa, but never really talked other than that. Together she and I will never let Lisa's memories fade!

I WILL RISE

"There's a peace I've come to know
Though my heart and flesh may fail
There's an anchor for my soul
I can say "It is well"

Jesus has overcome
And the grave is overwhelmed
The victory is won
He is risen from the dead

And I will rise when He calls my name
No more sorrow, no more pain
I will rise on eagles' wings
Before my God fall on my knees
And rise
I will rise

There's a day that's drawing near
When this darkness breaks to light
And the shadows disappear
And my faith shall be my eyes

Jesus has overcome
And the grave is overwhelmed
The victory is won
He is risen from the dead

And I will rise when He calls my name
No more sorrow, no more pain
I will rise on eagles' wings
Before my God fall on my knees
And rise
I will rise

And I hear the voice of many angels sing,
"Worthy is the Lamb"
And I hear the cry of every longing heart,
"Worthy is the Lamb"

And I will rise when He calls my name
No more sorrow, no more pain
I will rise on eagles' wings
Before my God fall on my knees
And rise
I will rise"

Easter 2010

Easter with two little ones is so fun, exciting, and anything but boring! Lynley loved "coloring" the eggs as I knew she would and Kendall enjoyed it more then I expected! I was picturing dye everywhere, broken eggs, and well just a huge mess. She surprised me and did very well and loved every second.
Easter morning was perfect! The Easter Bunny brought the girls way to much as usual and they loved everything they got. Church at First Baptist was wonderful as always. The weather was perfect, sunny and warm makes for a great day of hunting eggs and eating outside. Lynley loved hunting the eggs, but was a little disappointed that she did not find the prize egg. Kendall found about 3 eggs then decided she was bored with that and sat down in the grass to blow bubbles and play with her cousins. I think Easter weekend was one of the most perfect weekends you could ask for!
